Doctor Doom’s Deception: The Incursion and the First Team-Up

The story, as this theory suggests, begins with a shocking twist in the post-credits scene of the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. Doctor Doom, his face unmasked and unscarred, appears before Franklin Richards in the Baxter Building. While it looks like a kidnapping, it’s actually an appeal for help. Sue Storm, momentarily shocked by his familiar, healed face, holds her attack. Doom then reveals the true threat: a series of Incursions—the multiversal collisions that threaten to destroy entire universes. He proposes an alliance with the Fantastic Four to stop the next one.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Sue rallies her family. They split into two teams to tackle the problem from different angles. Reed and Ben head to Earth-616, the main MCU timeline, to work with the established Avengers. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom, Sue, Johnny, and Franklin venture into the X-Men’s universe, Earth-838, to confront the threat there.

This crucial setup immediately introduces a sense of urgency and deception. We’re led to believe Doom is an unlikely hero, a man who has changed, but his true motives are far more sinister.

The Avengers vs. X-Men Conflict and a Strategic Betrayal

Upon their arrival in the X-Men’s universe, Doctor Doom meets with Charles Xavier. Doom details his experience with incursions and presents a history of how he has prevented them or mitigated their damage. Charles, using his telepathic abilities, confirms Doom’s story—or so he thinks. This is the core of Doom’s manipulation. He only allows Charles to see incursions where the alternate Avengers were forced to destroy other universes to save their own, painting the Avengers as a destructive force.

This manipulation escalates when Monica Rambeau, from a different universe, is discovered there. Doom convinces Charles that Monica’s arrival was not an accident but a planned part of the incursions, leading to her imprisonment.

Meanwhile, Sue confronts Doom, questioning why Reed and Ben were sent to Earth-616 if the Avengers are so dangerous. Doom calmly explains that his plan requires all hands on deck and that he needs Reed to see the crisis firsthand. This moment highlights the cracks in their fragile alliance and sets up a monumental battle. As the Earth-616 Avengers arrive in the X-Men’s universe on a rescue mission for Monica, they’re met with a brutal attack from Sentinels that Doom has secretly hacked. Believing the Avengers to be a destructive force, Charles and the X-Men join the attack, sparking an epic confrontation reminiscent of the famous comic book storyline, Avengers vs. X-Men.

Bringing WANDA alive

Doctor Doom‘s True Plan: Franklin Richards, Wanda, and the Multiversal War

During the chaotic battle, Doom makes his move. He kidnaps Franklin Richards and America Chavez. With the fighting serving as a perfect diversion, Doom reveals his true objective to the powerful young heroes. He explains that he has used technology from Galactus’s ship and magical runes to dampen their abilities, making them powerless to resist.

Doom then manipulates Franklin, mirroring the plot of Fantastic Four Annual #20. He tells Franklin that unless he helps, the entire multiverse will collapse, and Franklin will be to blame. Simultaneously, he reveals to America Chavez that she has a crucial role to play in the creation of a new multiverse. But first, he needs her to locate Wanda Maximoff.

America, confused, asks “Which Wanda?” and Doom shows her a glimpse of the events from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where one Wanda mercilessly slaughters the Illuminati. Doom explains that this Wanda is the key to creating a new, perfect world. He takes them to Mount Wundagore, where they find Wanda’s body preserved by a protective chaos magic shield. Franklin, manipulated and pressured by Doom, breaks the barrier and revives Wanda. Surprisingly, Doom is gentle with Wanda, showing empathy for her pain, which makes America suspicious. It becomes clear that Doom’s master plan is to recruit the most powerful beings in the multiverse to his side.

Thor will die to save LOKI

The TVA, Loki, and the God Emperor Doom

This is where the plot widens to include the TVA. The rings of Shang-Chi begin to glow, sending a signal that Loki and Sylvie have been waiting for. They arrive on Earth-616 and explain a hidden truth: Loki Prime has been stabilizing the multiverse with a temporary “World Tree” or Yggdrasil, and the multiversal war has only been delayed. Doctor Doom believes Loki’s solution is flawed, arguing that the war should be allowed to happen, letting the universes and Kang variants destroy each other to create a clean slate. He sees himself as the only one who can establish a permanent, suffering-free utopia.

The twist is that this isn’t the Doom we know. Mobius reveals to the heroes that this is a Doctor Doom from Earth-828, a technologically advanced and magically proficient universe. He studied the multiverse, became a multiversal traveler, and eventually sought to become a god. His obsession with Earth-838’s Superior Iron Man led to a brutal battle, which Doom won. He transferred his consciousness into Superior Iron Man’s body—revealing that the Doom we see is actually a version of Tony Stark, making the subtle hints and comic book covers with Robert Downey Jr. as both characters all the more significant.

The ultimate confrontation takes place at the TVA. Thor, fueled by rage, attacks Doom, but Doom is too powerful. Just as Thor is about to be defeated, Loki uses his powers to bring other Avengers to the fight. But it’s too late. Thor dies, uttering his last words from Infinity War: “The sun will shine on us again.” The horrifying realization dawns on Loki: the Doom he was fighting was a decoy. The real Doom has been hiding, and he now sits on the empty throne of the TVA. The stage is set for Avengers: Doomsday.

Final Reckoning and the Black Priest

With the Doomsday protocol initiated, we get a glimpse of Doom’s new world: Franklin Richards living happily with his mother, but with Doom as his father. The Hulk rules his own Gamma World, and other heroes exist in a chaotic, medieval-like state. Doom’s plan is not one of simple conquest, but of a twisted, controlled utopia. He has promised Wanda and Franklin a new world where they can be happy, and in return, he gets to rule it, free from suffering and chaos.

In the final post-credits scene, a figure appears, a new, powerful iteration of Doctor Strange—the Black Priest. This is his most potent form, and his arrival sets up the events of the next film, promising that the fight against Doom is far from over.

This theory ties together an incredible amount of information, from set leaks about Robert Downey Jr. and Doctor Doom to the TVA’s central role and the introduction of the X-Men. It’s a plausible, mind-bending, and truly epic plot that could set the stage for the Multiverse Saga’s grand finale.

Q&A: Your Top Questions Answered

Q: What is Doctor Doom’s main goal in this theory? A: Doctor Doom’s main goal is to become the benevolent “God Emperor” of a perfect universe, a utopia free from suffering. To achieve this, he believes he must allow the multiversal war to run its course and destroy all existing realities, then create a new one in his image.

Q: How does the Multiversal War connect to Loki and the TVA? A: Loki, as the new head of the TVA, has been delaying the multiversal war by creating a temporary stabilizing patch (the World Tree). Doctor Doom sees this as a flaw, believing the war is necessary for a true, permanent solution.

Q: What role do Franklin Richards and Wanda Maximoff play? A: Franklin Richards and Wanda Maximoff are the key to Doom’s plan. Doom uses Franklin’s reality-warping powers to revive Wanda and promises them a perfect new world to manipulate them into helping him establish his new regime.

Q: Is Robert Downey Jr. playing both Iron Man and Doctor Doom? A: According to this theory, the version of Doctor Doom we see has transferred his consciousness into the body of Earth-838’s Superior Iron Man, which is why he looks like Robert Downey Jr. He is a variant of Doctor Doom, but in a body of a variant of Tony Stark.
